Matanky Realty Group is looking for a Construction Accountant to help our growing Construction division (MRG Construction Corp.) as well as our Sales and Brokerage, and Property Management businesses as needed. The Construction business is in its fifth year of business and is growing rapidly. We are currently using Sage 300 CRE (formerly Timberline) and are in the process of developing more robust reporting and analytics. Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain construction management system, including setting up projects (jobs), budgets, job costs, cost codes, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and various construction progress reports.
- Manage process for proper coding of construction invoices (payment applications) and lien releases for contractor and vendor invoices.
- Ensure vendor compliance files such W-9’s, Insurance Certifications, etc.
- Assist in management of ERP system attributes to produce improved construction reporting and be part of the team that improves this area of our businesses overall
- Perform financial analysis for the various businesses
- Maintain contract documents including records of lien releases in appropriate files
- Assist with project reporting and other financial analysis to Construction Team and other company management
- Prepare journal entries related to month-end close
- Analyze job variances
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as necessary
- Prepare and analyze divisional financial statements
- Provide general accounting assistance to other Matanky entities
- Be a back-up for AR and other areas of accounting
- Other projects as needed
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience
Must Haves:
- Degree in accounting
- 2-3 years of construction accounting experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction contracts, lien releases, and other pertinent construction documents is a plus
- Strong technology skills. Advanced experience in Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Comfortable working with data
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Goes beyond with excellent follow-through and responsiveness
- Look for problems simultaneously while looking and sharing solutions with a positive attitude
- Ability to multi-task and switch gears as needed

Nice to Have:
- Sage 300 CRE (Timberline) and Crystal Reports experience are a plus
